It takes a creative force to make a theatrical production come to life.  Ideas and visions become sketches.  Sketches and drawings become models, cuttings, and mock-ups.  And with collaboration, communication, and trust comes the magic that is THEATRE.

Kevin Welsh is the Auditorium director for Columbus East and the director of all our productions.  Kevin is an alumni of the East theatre, holds a degree in acting from the University of Evansville and a Masters degree in acting from the Alabama Shakespeare Festival at the University of Alabama.  He has long been a favorite of Columbus audiences acting in his first production when he was 12 years old.  Kevin enjoys being able to share his passion for theatre with his students and also enjoys the challenge of not only teaching acting, but also designing, building, and creating all the technical elements for all the shows at East.  When not at the theatre, Kevin plays drums with his band and is awe inspired by how quickly his daughter is growing and changing.
